Graduate Student, Chris Kalbach, Wins Best Poster Presentation at the Society for Philosophy and Psychology Conference
Original research presented by FSU graduate student Christopher Kalbach at the 45th meeting of the Society for Philosophy and Psychology in San Diego was recently awarded the prize for best poster! The project entitled "Teleology and Personal Identity" challenges the prevailing view on personal identity - that moral considerations are central to personal identity. Researchers Matt Taylor, Chris Kalbach, and David Rose found that there is instead a deeper, more central feature involved in personal identity: teleology. They provide support for this in three separate studies and argue that a teleological view of personal identity marks a new philosophical view.
