FSU Graduate Student Wins Award at 65th Annual Meeting of the Florida Philosophical Association.
Matthew Jernberg received the Outstanding Graduate Paper Award for his paper, “Is Death Bad for You After You Die?,” presented at the 65th Annual Meeting of the Florida Philosophical Association.
Graduate Student, Chris Kalbach, Wins Best Poster Presentation at the Society for Philosophy and Psychology Conference
Original research presented by FSU graduate student Christopher Kalbach at the 45th meeting of the Society for Philosophy and Psychology in San Diego was recently awarded the prize for best poster!
Doctoral Candidate, Nick Byrd, Publishes Paper on Moral Decision Making
Nick Byrd, a doctoral candidate in FSU’s Department of Philosophy, and Paul Conway, assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, collaborated on thought-provoking research focusing on the psychology of making moral decisions. Their paper, entitled "Not all who ponder count costs: Arithmetic reflection predicts utilitarian tendencies, but logical reflection predicts both deontological and utilitarian tendencies", was published in Cognition.
